SMART Garden Rooms’ Favourite Building of 2018 Competition

Winning Garden Rooms

Here at SMART we just love to hear how our customers are getting on in their new garden rooms across the UK, but rarely hear anything after the installation is complete, so we decided to start running a yearly competition to find our favourite building.

How To Enter

To enter, all our 2018 customers had to do, was send an internal and external image of their garden room and tell us how they best describe it.

The Winner!

We were absolutely bowled over by the number of entries that we received and it was a very hard call to select our winner and runner up. But as with all competitions we had to, so here goes . . .

Our 1st prize winner was Georgina Hanser from Fairview Farm, just outside of Ipswich in the beautiful Suffolk countryside, who had a stunning Suffolk Barn installed to be used as an activity room.

Fairview Farm is a day provision for young people aged 16-30 who have disabilities or difficulties. They offer bespoke programmes to meet individual needs and through a range of activities each day, they aim to develop academic ability, increase independence and social skills and broaden employability opportunities and confidence.

Georgina told us with her competition entry that the Barn, which they have lovingly named ‘Willow’, facilitates a wide range of activities.

“For some it’s a safe quiet space, for others it’s a hub of creativity and fun, but for us all it’s a magical special place where we can grow, where we can learn and where we can truly be ourselves.”

When asked what difference the SMART Garden Room has made to her operation, Georgina said:

“As a relatively new organisation which provides aspirational day care for young adults with disabilities, we believe a high-quality environment is an essential component of our ethos. The beautiful yet practical barn has provided us with a dedicated creative space where a wide range of activities are facilitated all year round. Equally, the additional space has enabled us to increase the number of young people we can support each day and subsequently appoint two more fantastic staff”.

Georgina added:

“SMART were exceptionally helpful and supportive right through the process. This was very important to me personally as a busy business owner. However, what was really fantastic for us was how amazing the grounds and installation teams were. Due to our property, it was not a straightforward installation and at all times they had a positive and solution-focused attitude. Most importantly, they were completely respectful that at all times our young people came first and they were happy to chat and engage with all of our young people which really ensured the smooth running of the business during the installation process.”

Georgina won £100 in National Garden Centre tokens and a photoshoot of her building. Our congratulations go to Georgina, a very worthy winner.

Our runner-up was Simon Thompson, based in Hertfordshire, who had this wonderful Ultra Range installed. As you can see, he has created the most amazing interior. I am sure you will agree, this must be the most perfect way to relax and unwind at the end of the day.
