Smart announced as runner-up to Business of the Year

On Friday 9 October four members of the Smart team attended the culmination of the Bury St Edmunds Business Festival, the Bury Free Press Business Awards, at the Apex in Bury St Edmunds, where the company was shortlisted as finalists in the prestigious ‘Business of the Year’ category of the awards.

The team enjoyed the glittering awards evening, celebrating the diversity and entrepreneurial successes of businesses across West Suffolk, presented by Falklands War Veteran Simon Weston OBE.

Whilst the Smart Garden Office team were naturally disappointed to lose out on the title of ‘Business of the Year’ to winners Newmarket Races, they were undoubtedly reassured to lose out to such a prestigious and well-recognised organisation, in such a competitive category that the judges described as “a photo finish!”

Thank you to Bury Free Press and Bury St Edmunds Chamber of Commerce for their recognition of the amazing successes Smart has achieved this year, with continued growth and demand across the three ranges of our garden office rooms, increased production capability following the move to a larger factory, and the undoubtedly successful launch of the new Ultra range -it has certainly been a memorable 2015 for everyone at Smart.

Our congratulations to winners Newmarket Races and fellow category finalists Toolbox Group – and to all of the other winners across the 10 categories on the evening.
