Ward Trade Marks is a firm of chartered trade mark attorneys and was set up by Rachael and Bill Ward in 2014. They help business owners to protect their intellectual property, especially their trade marks and brand names, working from their Garden Office.

They also help business owners to solve trade mark related problems, such as if someone else is copying their brand name as well as dealing with the trade mark portfolios for larger companies that trade globally and need trade mark protection in the other countries where they sell their goods and services.

When asked what made them decide to set up their own business, Bill replied “To be honest it was precipitated by the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns in 2020. We were renting premises in Bury St Edmunds and during the first lockdown we obviously had to start working from home, yet we still had obligations to pay the rent in premises that we couldn’t use. We gave notice to our landlord and ordered a Smart Suffolk Barn style office, the investment will pay for itself in around 18 months based on rent payment savings. An easy decision and the office is beautiful.”

Bill and Rachael were already aware of SMART, as SMART garden rooms is one of their clients. Having visited the factory several times and seen the manufacturing process first-hand Bill confirmed “We knew we wanted one of their studios right away but never got around to ordering one until 2020 when everything lined up and it made perfect sense to get one”

Bill and Rachael opted for one of our stunning high line dual pitched Suffolk Barns with the incredible internal vaulted ceiling for their quality garden office. Hand painted in a green colour stain, the barn nestles beautifully in their garden and looks like it has always been there.

We had air conditioning fitted as well which keeps you warm in the winter, cool in the summer. It is lovely, light and airy inside, a fantastic working environment”

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, they have not been able to receive customers to their new office but are looking forward to the day when they can.
