Case Studies

Mrs K from Lincolnshire has been working form home for the past five years. She has two children aged four and seven and with her husband they live in a three bedroom house in a small village. Mrs K found that working from home was the best way to continue to contribute to the household bills and to bring up her children without the need for outside childcare. After buying her Smart Garden Office we asked if she could write a few words for us telling her story, this is what she wrote;

When my first son was born I chose to stay at home and be a house wife and main carer for my new born. After two years of Tweenies and Bob the builder I felt my brain had turned to cheese and was desperate to get back to earning a living. My confidence was very low and the thought of going to an interview terrified me. Although I wanted to work I still wanted to be the main carer for my son and so with the help of my husband I began to work from home in the evenings while he was there to look after our boy. Before long son number two came along and I was busier than ever. The house seemed to be getting smaller and smaller and I spent more time getting my paperwork out and putting it away again than actually doing the work and so my income hit an all time low. It was my husband who suggested that I needed dedicated space and as we did not have a spare room anymore we looked into the options available. We did not have the resources to move and building an extension or conservatory would have taken so much time that my income would have disappeared before it would be finished. It was quite by chance one day that while surfing the internet I came across the Smart Garden Office website and sent for a brochure. My husband and I were surprised to find that it would take only 4 weeks to have a functioning office in our garden and so we contacted them and they were so helpful we decided to go for it and ordered the Solo. During the 4 weeks we got the site for it ready and had the power run out to it then the miracle happened, it arrived and was up and working in one day. It has made such a difference to our lives. the children are now both at school and when I get home I tidy up the house, make a cup of tea and go down to my office. The time I spend in there is so productive as there are no distractions and when its time to pick up from school I just lock the door and go home with the boys knowing that when I go back in tomorrow it will all be where I left it. Having the dedicated space has improved my relationship with all the family as I don't have to keep saying leave that alone and keep away from there and they don't feel so ignored anymore. I even get to work during the summer holidays while the boys are in the garden playing - life couldn't be better. My only regret is not getting a Smart Garden Office sooner!!

Mrs K chose the solo to fit her needs and with our wide range available you too will find the office space to suit your needs.
